205.93911 MPH making the LTA 200 MPH Club

My 1953 Studebaker Land Speed Race Car set 2 Land Speed Records and put 2 drivers in the LTA 200 MPH Club.

I set the C/CGALT record at 205.93911 MPH and David Matyjasik set the B/CGALT record going 205.4 MPH we both made the exclusive 200 MPH Club.  The Car made good power and drove great considering the hot weather and 6 to 12 MPH crossing head winds.  Special thanks to Brian Salter of Salter Racing Engines in Winston Salem NC, the motor was STRONG.

Back to Loring Maine for 200 MPH Attempt

If all goes well with the upgrade of my 370 cubic inch motor, Brian Salter of Salter Racing Engines is expecting 795+ HorsePower from the new setup. With that extra power we should be able to exceed 200mph, set the new class record and be inducted into the 200mph Club. The event in Loring Maine is September 17 and 18. With the 2500 mile round trip and 5 nights on the road, we are currently looking for help and sponsorship.. for info or Tee Shirt orders email me at

Staging in Loring, Maine

The ‘Stude’ went through the traps at 175.250 mph. In the south (NC) we like to call that “a buck seventy-five and change”.
